How many golf courses are available at Destination Kohler?

Destination Kohler is made up of four championship golf courses, all designed by the renowned Pete Dye, which provide distinctly different golf experiences and a 10-hole par 3 course with a two-acre putting course.

Built on a tract of land sculpted by glacier run-off tens of thousands of years ago, Blackwolf Run offers two 18-hole courses skillfully carved out of the natural environment and designed for golfers who appreciate the game's great traditions. View our virtual tours to appreciate both courses at Blackwolf Run, The River and The Meadow Valleys, each named to reflect the natural features of the terrain.

Beginning with a 560-acre parcel of flat land, Dye created Whistling Straits. Open, rugged and windswept terrain defines The Straits situated along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. Just inland, interspersed by four meandering streams, the grassland-and-dunes aspect of The Irish is a deceivingly tranquil landscape.

How much should I tip my caddie when I play Whistling Straits?

The recommended caddie gratuity is $60 per bag for a walking caddie and $30 per bag for a forecaddie. Please feel free to give more or less depending on the level of service provided during the round.

Village of Kohler

Is Kohler a resort, a Village or a company?

All of the above. Kohler Co. was established in 1873, and the Village of Kohler, established in 1912, was one of the earliest planned communities – a garden at the factory gate. The Village has grown into the Midwest's premier resort destination – The American Club Resort – and includes two hotels, four 18-hole championship golf courses, Kohler Waters Spa, ten restaurants and cafés, a health and racquet facility, a wilderness preserve and collection of over 25 shops and boutiques.

Must you be a Kohler Co. employee to live in the Village of Kohler?

You don't have to work at Kohler Co. to own a home in this community of 2,200. In fact, the majority of residents in the Village are not Kohler Co. employees. The Village has a diverse collection of remarkable home sites that offer wonderful Wood Lake, woodland and prairie settings. Your home may be chosen from an outstanding collection of custom residences, Village homes and condominiums. Village Realty & Development can provide you with detailed information about residential opportunities within the Village and surrounding areas.
